Youth Profile Of The Month
So often, the accomplishments of queer youth are left in the shadows of their straight peers. We know there are some amazing young people out there who are doing incredible things at their schools and in the community. We want to meet these amazing people and to share their stories on the air. Each month on Outbeat Youth we will feature an interview with a member of the queer youth community 12 to 25 years of age. Do you know someone who deserves some recognition for their accomplishments? Do you know someone at school or in your youth organization who is out their making a difference? Tell us about that person and why you believe they should be featured on Outbeat Youth. Please use the form on the bottom of this page to submit your nomination. It is critical that you include a way for us to contact you and the person you are nominating. Can you nominate yourself? Of course you can! Just tell us what you are doing and why you want your profile to be shared on Outbeat Youth. |

Become A Youth Correspondent
Have you ever wanted to be a reporter or to have your own feature on the radio? Well now is your chance to get involved on Outbeat Youth. We are looking for youth correspondents to report on events and activities at local schools and youth organizations like Positive Images and Spectrum. Is music your passion? How about video gaming? You can create your own report on what’s hot and happening now in the queer youth community. What we need is your report in MP3 digital audio format. You can use an iphone with a free application like “Audio Boo” to create your audio clip. Be sure to create your audio file using the highest recording quality available. Audio clips can be as long as five minutes. Be sure to start out your recording with a brief introduction like, “This is Steve from Montgomery High School with….” You can end your report with something like, “reporting from the GSA at Montgomery High, this is Steve….” You don’t need to use your last name unless you want to. Be sure to speak clearly and do not use any profanity that we cannot broadcast on the radio. Have fun with it and show us radio broadcasting talents.
